Individual Therapy

You’ve been doing this “adulting” thing for awhile now, but making all of these big decisions for/by yourself is getting overwhelming. You’re feeling stuck and  like you have no guidance or direction in life. You’ve probably been considering therapy for awhile now, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet for a million different reasons. Maybe you’ve been taught that asking for help is weak, or maybe you pride yourself on being completely independent and self sufficient. As a young person of color, you’ve had to learn to interact with this world in a very unique way that sometimes makes you feel like “it’s me against the world”.

You work hard and have goals that you want to accomplish. You are ambitious and determined to be successful and create generational wealth, but at times you feel like an imposter. In turn, you are self critical and extremely hard on yourself because you don’t want to fail. You’ve created wildly unrealistic expectations of yourself and you beat yourself up if you fall short even a little bit.  If no one has told you before, let me be the first to tell you: you owe it to yourself to be as kind and gracious as you are to others.

Now, you’re faced with a difficult decision or upcoming life transition that you’re worried and nervous about. Your anxiety and depression is impacting your relationships, your work, and your sense of self. You put so much time, energy, and resources into everything or everyone around you, but you’re not used to putting as much effort into your own internal wellbeing.  It’s officially time for a change.

As a millennial, I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs in young adulthood. I like to use what I’ve learned from my own life in combination with my professional training as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to help other black millennials navigate this intense and sometimes confusing season. In my work with my clients, I make sure to create a safe, non-judgmental space where I can offer additional perspective and help you get to a place of mental clarity. Learning to control your thoughts is one of the major keys that I want to help you with. It’s my role as a therapist to help you realize the power you hold and regain a sense of control in your life.

If you’re tired of feeling stuck and are ready to do the work to begin living the life you’ve worked so hard for, contact me today to schedule your free 15 minute phone consultation. It’s time you started feeling like yourself again…or maybe for the first time.
